Compounded Medications

Since infertility treatment is very specialized and precise, the medication or dose you need may not always be commercially available.  In some instances, the manufactured product may contain an ingredient that you are allergic to or that your doctor would prefer be excluded from the formula. In these cases, Mandell’s can custom create, or “compound”,  medications to meet your needs.

Commitment to Excellence

Mandell’s Clinical Pharmacy is accredited by Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) for compliance with PCAB pharmacy compounding accreditation standards.  PCAB is a service of Accreditation Commission for Healthcare and is a third-party accreditation organization that has developed the highest national standards that providers are measured against in order to illustrate their ability to effectively and efficiently deliver quality compounded medications to consumers.

PCAB performs on-site visits with industry-expert Surveyors who audit specific areas of performance. PCAB Accreditation also requires annual validation to ensure continued compliance with all applicable standards.

What Does It Mean For You?

PCAB Accreditation requires pharmacies to demonstrate complaints with specific process standards.  By choosing a compounding pharmacy that has achieved PCAB Accreditation, you can take comfort in knowing that the pharmacy meets national quality standards.  If you have any concerns about the product or service that you receive from Mandell’s Clinical Pharmacy, you may contact ACHC directly at 855-937-2242.

Our compounding pharmacists are highly-trained individuals who care about the quality of your product and the outcome of your treatment. All of our pharmacists and technicians have been trained in aseptic technique to prepare and handle capsules, suppositories, creams, troches and many other compounds that your physician may use.  Mandell’s is also PCAB accredited, which demonstrates the commitment to quality that

Our sterile compounding pharmacists, Terry Malanda and Sandy Fernandez, were trained at PCCA (www.http://www.pccarx.com/) which is the foremost pharmacy compounding school in the nation. They are trained in both Sterile and Non-Sterile technique. At Mandell’s Clinical Pharmacy, we test all injectable medications at an accredited independent testing laboratory. NOTICE: Due to new FDA regulations, many compounded medications are required to have shorter-term expiration dates than previously permitted. While Mandell’s will always do our best to dispense product with enough shelf life for your cycle, due to the strict FDA guidelines, certain products may expire during treatment or while a patient awaits treatment. Our Patient Care Coordinators and Pharmacists are able to advise patients on product dating and re-ordering. This information is also in your shipment. Mandell’s is not responsible for replacing expired compounds in cases where treatment was delayed or a product with short shelf life was ordered by your physician. Patients are responsible for reordering their compound refills in advance to allow for them to be made, shipped and received.
