Product Information and Injection Instructions

Storage/Handling:
Gonal-f 450 IU Multi-Dose: Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Once mixed, it must be used within 28 days. Protect from light.

Gonal-f RFF Pen 300 IU, 450 IU, and 900 IU: Store refrigerated at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C) until expiration date or at room temperature for up to one month. After initial use, store pen refrigerated or unrefrigerated for a maximum of 28 days.

Gonal-f RFF 75 IU vial: Store at room temperature between 59°F and 77°F (15°C and 25°C). Once mixed, it must be used immediately.

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Common side effects include abdominal pain, bloating, breast pain, nausea. This drug can also cause Ovarian Hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) which should be treated as a serious matter and doctor should be notified immediately. Injection site bruising and soreness. This drug may cause thromboembolic episode causing tight chest sensation or difficulty breathing.

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If the patient exhibits any signs or OHSS (abdominal cramps, bloating, abdominal discomfort) or if patient has any difficulty breathing as described above.

Clomid (clomiphene citrate)

Information: Clomiphene citrate is an oral tablet utilized by physicians to help facilitate ovulation by increasing the release of GnRH (gonadotropin releasing hormone) by the hypothalmus.  Dosing and physician instruction may vary, so it is important to listen to the directions from your doctor or nurse.

Storage/Handling:
Store at room temperature between 59°F and 86°F (15°C and 30°C).

Common Side Effects/Comments:
Side effects include hot flashes, abdominal discomfort, blurred vision, insomnia, nervousness, breast tenderness, ovarian cysts, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) (excessive fluid retention and enlargement of ovaries usually with severe abdominal discomfort), ovarian enlargement

Contact the Physician Immediately:
If a patient experiences visual disturbances such as blurring, spots, or flashes. Or if patient experiences symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation as described above.

Leuprolide Trigger Injection

Mandell’s Clinical Pharmacy can custom compound Leuprolide trigger injections in a pre-filled syringe, with the exact dose requested by the physician.   Since it comes in a pre-filled syringe, no mixing or drawing up of medication is required.   Please do not confuse Leuprolide trigger with Leuprolide 2 Week Kit.  While they are made of the same medication, their respective uses are substantially different.  Please follow the specific instructions from your physician or nurse when administering this medication, as treatment approach can vary between IVF centers.

ENDOMETRIN® (progesterone) is a vaginal insert that contains the hormone progesterone, one of the hormones essential for helping you to become and to stay pregnant. ENDOMETRIN is for women who need extra progesterone while undergoing treatment in an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) program.
Important Safety Information
Do not use ENDOMETRIN if you:
Are allergic to anything in ENDOMETRIN
Have unusual vaginal bleeding that has not been evaluated by a doctor
Currently have or have had liver problems
Have or have had blood clots in the legs, lung, eyes, or elsewhere in your body
Progesterone can increase your chance of getting blood clots. Blood clots can be serious and lead to death. Serious blood clots include those in the legs, lungs, eyes, heart, and brain.
Call your doctor and get medical help right away if you have: persistent lower leg pain, sudden shortness of breath, coughing up blood, sudden blindness (partial or complete), severe chest pain, sudden severe headache, vomiting, dizziness, or fainting, weakness in an arm or leg, or trouble speaking, yellowing of the skin and/or white of the eyes indicating possible liver problems.
Common side effects seen with ART and ENDOMETRIN included pelvic pain after surgery, abdominal pain, nausea, and swollen ovaries (ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome).
